Great Place to Work Conference 2017 on 28 June

The Great Place to Work Conference is an annual flagship event organised with the intention of inspiring corporate leaders to create and sustain a high-trust, high-performance culture in their workplace.

The 2017 conference, themed ‘Culture Drives Performance’, is to be held on 28 June 2017 at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo. The conference will highlight the importance of establishing and maintaining an environment of trust to enhance employee engagement and thereby drive organisational performance.

A line-up of 15 prominent speakers from national and international organisations will grace the stage to share their experiences in driving employee engagement and building high-trust cultures. Supporting case studies and interactive plenary sessions will elaborate on the implementation of effective people practices and the benefits of promoting a great workplace culture.

The keynote address will be delivered by MAS Kreeda Trailblazer and CEO/Managing Director Sarinda Unamboowe on ‘Driving Culture: A mission with a passion’.

John Keells Holdings Director Dilani Alagaratne will be presenting on ‘Better culture means better Business: A blue chip experience’ while 99X Technology Founder/CEO Mano Sekaram will speak on ‘Culture on steroids – The high performing formula’. 

In addition, two plenary sessions consisting of high-powered panels will discuss ‘Culture shift’ and ‘Creating an innovative culture in the age of digital differentiation’ with experience sharing from CXO’s of DFCC Bank, Unilever Sri Lanka, Brandix Lanka, LAUGFS Holdings, Marriott Hotels, VirtusaPolaris, Kapruka.com and more.

The journey of creating and sustaining a great workplace starts with assessing the employee perception of the organisation and the effectiveness of existing people practices. This will help managers to align organisational goals and advance towards better performance in the workplace.

To assist organisations in this journey, the Great Place to Work Institute will share their accumulated knowledge gained from studying more than 100 million employees across the world.

Great Place to Work Institute – Sri Lanka has been publishing the ‘Best Workplaces in Sri Lanka’ list since 2013. Research insights from the five-year national study will also be presented at the conference, providing a unique learning experience and networking opportunity for all participants.

Furthermore, the Great Place to Work Institute will be launching its Certification Program in Sri Lanka at this year’s conference. Great Place to Work-Certified will offer a platform for recognition of workplaces that have met the predefined thresholds for certification with the option of forwarding their results to be recognised in the Best Workplaces Lists.
