GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals (GSK) won the 23rd annual Pharma Promoters Association (PPA) Quiz this year, taking the ‘Champions Trophy’ at this keenly contested event.
A second team fielded by GSK Pharmaceuticals was placed fifth at the same quiz.
24 teams from 22 companies participated this year, with members of each team drawn from various business units and departments. Each team consists of five members and the winning team is awarded the ‘PPA Quiz Nite Challenge Trophy’. All participants are presented certificates.
The quiz is based on topics covering Business, Current Affairs, Entertainment, History, International Affairs, Medicine, Politics, Science, Sports and Sri Lanka.
The victorious GSK team comprised of Dr. Radhik Wijesooriya, Ananda Goonawardena, Monira Rafeek, Denuka Perera and Dr. Janaka Wickremasinghe.
“We are very proud of our teams which once again demonstrated the versatility of our staff. The company will continue to encourage its staff to pursue knowledge enhancing activities of this nature,” said GSK Pharmaceuticals Sri Lanka Managing Director Stuart Chapman.
The PPA Quiz Nite is one of the key events in the PPA calendar and an event much looked forward to by member companies. It was initiated in 1991 to foster togetherness and build knowledge among the Pharmaceuticals fraternity.
Teams from GSK Pharmaceuticals won this quiz in 2014 as well.
