The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) has commenced its mid-year intake for one of the country’s most sought after foreign MBA programs. The MBA of the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), recognised as one of Australia’s top 20 MBAs, is offered in Sri Lanka through the CA Sri Lanka Business School.
The USQ MBA which is of world class repute has been followed by thousands of students both in Australia and outside Australia, with a large number of Sri Lankan professionals also following the program since it was introduced to the country by the CA Business School in 2002.
USQ is an international university of repute in distance learning and was the first accredited ‘institution of best practice’ for external higher education in Australia.
Recently, a popular website based in Australia MyUniversity ranked USQ as the second best university in Queensland on the grounds that the university produced the highest number of students who were able to secure full time jobs subsequent to their study at USQ.
CA Sri Lanka President Sujeewa Rajapakse noted that the USQ MBA is one of the most successful MBA programs in the country followed by professionals both at junior and senior levels and has also been followed by well-established corporate leaders in the country.
“CA Sri Lanka and the University of Southern Queensland have been working together for well over 10 years and we continuously endeavour to provide professionals from both the accounting and non-accounting sectors with the best of local and foreign qualifications right here in Sri Lanka,” he noted.
Chief Executive Officer of CA Sri Lanka Aruna Alwis highlighted that the CA Business School is among the foremost leading business schools in the country providing both academic and professional qualifications for the benefit of professionals in the country.
“Both CA Sri Lanka and the University of Southern Queensland share an exceptional association counting to 10 long years. Today, the USQ MBA offered through the Business School is one of the most popular MBA programs in the country among professionals representing all sectors,” he added.
USQ also offers a range of exemptions for members of CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, CIM, ACCA, SLIM, CIM, AAT and CMA to follow its MBA.
Marketing Manager of Providence Network and Solutions Ltd. Roshan Duraipandian, who followed the USQ MBA, said: “When selecting a MBA program, it was crucial for me to find one that offered subjects most current to the recent management trends, which could be applied to the day to day decision making and planning.”
“It was a novel study experience with access to USQ’s online pool of resources and forums along with CA Sri Lanka’s pool of experienced lecturers, which equipped me as well as the others to follow the exams and assignments confidently,” he added.
