Institute of Supply & Materials Management became the newest member to be accepted to a strong Asian based professionals’ forum named APLF (Asian Pacific Logistics Forum) at the Executive Council Management meeting held in Tianjin City in China on 1 August 2014. Along with ISMM there were three other Asian countries who were accepted as APLF members, namely Bangladesh, Vietnam and Myanmar. This forum was chaired by an Asian giant in Logistics (China Federation for Logistics & Procurement) CFLP’s President He Liming. Asia is represented by Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, Australia, etc. ISMM President Anil Ponweera had a five minutes presentation to introduce ISMM and its role in the supply chain profession in Sri Lanka over the last 42 years.
