JASTECA offers training in Japan for professional bankers and financiers

The Japan Sri Lanka Technical Cultural Association (JASTECA) in association with Overseas Human Resources and Industry Development Association (HIDA) has organised a training program in Japan on ‘Advance Japanese Banking Systems and Best Practices’ for top executives, managers and professionals of the local banking and financial sector.
Applications for this self-funded ‘Bankers Program,’ which will be conducted in Japan from 30 September-6 October 2013 has to be forwarded to JASTECA office, No. 4, 22nd Lane, Colombo 3 Interested applicants could send an e-mail to [email protected] to obtain further information.
Twenty applicants will be selected to participate in this program, which is organised for the third successive time by JASTECA. The next program will be in two years.
HIDA – Japan, formerly known as the Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS), is an organisation that is dedicated to uplift the standards of human resources in developing countries by promoting technical cooperation through training. Established in 1959, HIDA’s aim is to foster friendly relations and contribute to the economic growth of developing nations by conducting training programs that will impart knowledge and skills to participants about world renowned Japanese management systems.
With almost three decades of dedicated service which has benefitted the local business sector immensely, JASTECA helps organisations to acquire expertise in Japanese management systems and is involved in the transfer of Japanese technology to local industries, government institutions and SMEs.
The ‘Bankers Program,’ while enabling participants to learn about the advance Japanese banking and financial systems, will also expose them to the manufacturing and service sectors. It is designed to educate participants on high quality systems employed in Japan such as lean management. They will have the opportunity to visit the Toyota factory, leading banks and financial institutions in Japan and observe how globally leading Japanese companies employ these management techniques with great success.
The program agenda includes lectures on ‘Breakthrough Thinking’ by Professor Hibino, ‘5S and Kaizen’ by Yamana and ‘The Essence of Lean Production’, which will be conducted by a lecturer from Toyota Engineering Corp.
Participants will be able to think creatively and formulate innovative solutions to problems and issues facing their respective organizations as a result of this program, which will certainly make Sri Lanka’s banking and financial sector more vibrant, thereby contributing effectively to the country’s GDP and economic growth.
They will be able to learn under the supervision of reputed lecturers in a great environment that will be provided by HIDA, which assures that they will be groomed on management systems and techniques that are characteristic of thriving Japanese companies.
