Ceylon Tobacco Company’s (CTC), Chairman’s Award is a prestigious honour given to its staff members who have performed exceptionally during the year.
This year, CTC celebrated two such individuals who were awarded joint winners. Nishan Fernando, Regional Manager, and Shaminda Samaraweera, Marketing Finance Manager, were announced joint winners for their outstanding contributions in identifying innovative ways in improving business.
Nishan was honoured for his efforts in conceptualising a loyalty program aimed at enhancing CTC’s relationship with its Trade partners. Through this program CTC’s top 4,500 retailers are entitled to attractive benefits offered by over 30 merchants island-wide.
The National Budget of 2013 introduced a VAT component for distributors. Shaminda led a cross functional team to ensure that all CTC distributors over the threshold were fully compliant with this new regulation.
“It has been a very challenging year for CTC and the dedication of every employee is commendable. My special congratulations to Nishan and Shaminda and a further thank you to the entire CTC family for their continuous support,” said CTC Managing Director and CEO Felicio Ferraz.
