Jude Silva joins Papyrus as Chief Operating Officer

Papyrus Papers Ltd., Sri Lanka’s leading supplier of fine papers for printing, corporate stationery and Digital Quick Print services, has announced the appointment of Jude Silva as the company’s Chief Operating Officer with effect from 1 October 2013.
A professional with more than 25 years of corporate sector experience, Silva was Chief Operating Officer of Hayleys Consumer and a member of the company’s board of directors prior to his appointment at Papyrus Papers.
Announcing this high profile appointment, Papyrus Papers Chairman/CEO Ashan Abeyesundere said: “Jude brings with him a wealth of experience. His knowledge and contacts will add significant strength to the Papyrus team, at a time when the company is gearing to consolidate its recent expansion and diversification.”
The Immediate Past President of the MBA Alumni Association of the University Of Colombo, Jude Silva is a Chartered Marketer of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) UK and holds a Certificate in Philosophical Studies from St. Charles Seminary, Nagpur, India.
In the course of his working career, Silva has had extensive exposure to Sales and Marketing Management and Brand Management for Fast Moving Consumer Goods, Customer Service and Human Resources Management. He has been responsible for the sales and marketing activities of several leading international brands in consumer electronics, personal care, health care, lighting and photo imaging and has led teams which achieved market leadership in some highly competitive sectors.
He was also actively involved in Supplier Relationship Management, dealing with leading companies in the UK, Germany, Japan, China, Singapore, Malaysia and India.
The sole agent in Sri Lanka for the European heritage fine paper brand Conqueror since the company’s inception in 2002, Papyrus Papers now carries more than 300 stock keeping units (SKUs) in the paper category, representing its flagship brand Conqueror, 13 other fine paper brands from Antalis/Arjo Wiggins, the company that owns the Conqueror brand, and products from seven other suppliers. The company has built strong links in Sri Lanka with users of fine paper such as designers, production agencies, end-user corporates and printers.
