Kelani Cables starts newest training program from Weerawila to educate students of technical college

Kelani Cables PLC; the Sri Lanka’s number one brand in manufacturing electrical and communication cables commenced conducting training workshops for students of Technical Collages in regard of electrical wiring systems as a CSR program of the company.
The company has identified students in technical colleges who undergo training in electrical and draftsman as potential apprentices to provide training on laying wires in electrical systems.
The program is carried out in association with the technical education and training department of the youth affairs and skills development ministry. The inaugural program was held at the Weerawila technical education centre, which will be carried out in technical colleges scattered throughout the island in due course.
The newest methods and techniques used in the developed countries on the subject of laying wires in electrical systems will be taught to the students through these workshops. Also under this CSR program, Kelani cables PLC conducts two separate programs for technical officers and professional electricians scattered in the island to gear them with the industry-specific latest techniques.
The first program at Weerawila was a massive success with the participation of over 60 students of the technical college. The main lecture was done by the Sales Engineer of the Kelani cables PLC, Sanjeewa Gunatilleke. His lecture comprised of subject areas; nature of the construction, number of floors and selecting wires according to varied needs, standards in different wires and laying wires with secure methods which are practiced by experts in the world.

Through these training workshops, students in the technical colleges will be taught of the latest methods practiced in the industry and how to benchmark with global standards”.
