Veteran media and public relations consultant Kumar de Silva’s newest venture, Corporate Etiquette Training, has proven to be a great success among a large number of corporates ever since his recent entry into this challenging arena.
“The response has been fabulous and very encouraging as more and more corporate entities now pay detailed attention to the urgent need to sharpen the varied soft skills of their staff. Corporate Etiquette is the final icing on the cake, the final packaging of the corporate and his/her springboard to success. I’m happy to share my vast experience with Sri Lankan corporates to help them gain confidence, drastically enhance social performance levels and navigate their personal role in a corporate journey to success,” De Silva says.
A few hundred Sri Lankan corporates have already undergone training by De Silva ever since he launched his full-day training program in October this year. Among the companies serviced were Hemas Holdings Plc, Janashakthi Insurance Plc, Nations Trust Bank Plc, SGLogistics (partner of DB Schenker) and Sinhaputhra Finance Plc with more in the pipeline.
“Corporate Etiquette is generally neglected by most busy executives in today’s corporate world. It is however of critical importance that one knows and practices certain socially-accepted practices. Kumar de Silva’s excellent training helped clear doubts and gave an all-rounded practical experience of all the dos and don’ts that successful corporates need to know,” Janashakthi Insurance Plc Senior Sales Manager (General Sales) M. C. M. Noushad said.
“This was a unique training experience which gave me a sense of fulfillment and immense satisfaction. It comprised a well-structured and detailed program which addresses the key areas essential to be an outstanding ambassador in the corporate arena,” Nations Trust Bank Plc Assistant Account Relationship Manager, Corporate Banking, Nizraan Jumat said.
“Corporate etiquette is an important discipline commonly overlooked by most companies. It is this that defines the first impression one creates as a corporate ambassador to the outside world. In this sense Kumar de Silva’s training was invaluable to my staff. It contributed towards enhancing their overall social appeal and personality and covered all the vital components which are of importance to corporates in their day-to-day lives,” DB Schenker partner, SGLogistics’ CEO Niroza Gazzali said.
“The wealth of any organisation, however big or small, is its staff. It is they who represent the organisation and constitute its ‘human face’ thus making them the unofficial ambassadors of their organisations. Training sessions are conducted in English, and if required in ‘Singlish’. The latter enables me to literally get into the blood stream of the participants and this works wonders,” De Silva says.
‘Corporate Etiquette Consultancy with Kumar de Silva’ is a hands-on full-day program which takes participants through very intensive and interactive modules which have been specially crafted to suit Sri Lankan needs.
They are: ‘General Corporate Etiquette’, ‘Personal Hygiene and Grooming’, ‘Cocktail Protocol – Wining & Dining’, ‘Effective Communication Skills’ and ‘The International Travel-Savvy Passenger’.
“These lessons empower them for life. The confidence and savoir-faire they acquire give them an amazing winning edge and enhance their ‘offering’ to both their employers and customers,” De Silva states.
Kumar de Silva counts nearly 30 years of experience working and interacting with hundreds of people from different organisations across Sri Lanka’s multi-disciplined corporate sector. He can be visited at www.kumardesilva.com.
