The Outward Bound professional development training program is a provocative and engaging event, which develops capacities of mind, body and spirit and turns the spotlight on the essence of the leadership values and holds a mirror against the participants for them to discover their inner potential.
The Sri Lanka Business Development Centre (SLBDC) in collaboration with the Outward Bound Trust (OBT) – Sri Lanka conducted an Outward Bound ‘team building’ training program for the staff at Miami Clothing Ltd. on 14 March, at the Kalutara Training Centre, Kalutara. The main objective of this training program was to foster planning, team building, trust building, communication, leadership development, time management, recourse management, creativity and decision making through various activities. Participants were encouraged to think innovatively and develop confidence to accept challenges with a positive attitudes and creative mindset. The participants had this to say about their experience:
“Today this program is very successful and this is very much close to our career and our personal life as well. And also these activities are planned properly and time management is very good and we have enjoyed the day through activities with lessons” “This program is very successful and we gain more knowledge” “This OBT program was well organised and there were so many things to be introduced in the factory staff and the workers. Also my personal opinion is that kind of program must be organised for lower level staff too.”
