Recent Batch of 33 students who have successfully completed the certificate programs on F and B Service and Culinary arts, from Harpo’s School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, in association with the Berendina NGO received their certificates recently at the Galle branch of HSTHM.
The main objective of Harpo’s Hotel School is to provide Sri Lankans with skills in the hospitality industry and, broaden their employment prospects. In turn to improve the productivity of the respective organizations.Berendina NGO‘s mission is to provide livelihood to marginalized rural communities and assist youth to find productive employment and support with vocational training for the (Samurdhi) low income families island wide.
The F&B service and culinary arts course has enhanced the aspirant’s employability both locally and internationally and these students have the opportunity to be absorbed into Harpo’s Cafes and Restaurants to gain Industrial experience.
Twenty eight students who completed the F&B service program and 5 students who completed the Culinary arts 3 month program received their certificates from HSTHM Managing Director Harpo Gooneratne and a H J Harischandra, General Manager, Berendina employment center.
Also attending the event was T.L.D. Sajintha- District Manager, Berendina employment centre- Galle, and Asela Wijethunga, Coordinator Galle Branch
