The National Chamber of Commerce will conduct a CEO Forum on the theme ‘National Statistics for Corporate Decision Making’ on Thursday 27 November from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the National Chamber Auditorium 450 D.R. Wijewardene Mw, Colombo 10. The main speakers will be Dr. Anila Dias Bandaranaike, Former Assistant Governor, Central Bank of Sri Lanka and Dr. D.C.A. Gunawardene, Director General, Dept. of Census and Statistics.
The speakers will explain how national statistics can be of use to corporates, the various types of statistics (indicators) available and their importance in corporate decision making and provide an overview of how key indicators (GDP/GNP, CPI, PPI, etc. ) are compiled. They will also discuss international standards in compiling indicators and whether Sri Lanka is complying with such standards, as well as how to interpret statistics and avoid misconceptions in the light of current global trends in information availability.
This forum will also be a place for networking with other professionals and to exchange views on the latest economic trends. The target audience would be CEOs, industrialists, entrepreneurs, investors, decision makers, etc .
