Nations Trust Bank corporate quiz 2013: The battle for supremacy

Nations Trust Bank once again hosted its annual Corporate Quiz exclusively for the bank’s corporate clientele. A much anticipated annual event, the Nations Trust Bank Corporate Quiz provides an opportunity for corporates to showcase their talents and test their intellectual mettle against their peers. The quiz program, now in its seventh consecutive year is an enriching and entertaining annual event that intends to foster a spirit of

camaraderie, friendly competition and collective fun among the corporate elite of Sri Lanka’s business community. The latest edition of the quiz was held on Friday 4 October 2013 at the Grand Ballroom, Colombo Hilton under the theme ‘The Battle for the Throne’. The quiz featured 40 teams representing a cross section of Sri Lanka’s business community. Covering areas such as sports, current affairs, entertainment, financial markets and a special segment on the bank itself, the Nations Trust Bank Corporate Quiz Championship 2013 was a hotly contested event. The quiz concluded with Dialog Axiata PLC being awarded the championship for 2013. Team Dialog, comprised of Mohammed Rikaz, Riyad Riffai, Sameera Malinda and Kusum Gunawardena. The team commenting on the experience added, “We are really happy to be a part of the Nations Trust Bank Corporate Quiz this year and winning the coveted title having come so close to the title last time. We have participated in several other quizzes prior to this in 2013 but the total experience we received at the Nations Trust Bank quiz was simply awesome to say the least. The way in which the power of IT and technology was used from the beginning till the end of the event was simply mind blowing and the questions too were of very high quality. The organising of the quiz was outstanding and

the 2013 theme, ‘Game of Thrones’ took this year’s quiz to a whole new level. We would like to thank the Nations Trust Bank team for organising this quiz event and we are already looking forward to the next edition in 2014 with much anticipation, which we are sure will raise the bar once again.” Diesel and Motor Engineering PLC (Dimo) was adjudged the runner-up for the current edition of the quiz. By creating this environment of friendly rivalry, the Nations Trust Bank Corporate Quiz also aims to encourage networking, fellowship, team spirit, and mutual respect among Sri Lanka’s corporate community, thereby laying the foundation for future business success.
