The six-storeyed building complex of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) built at a project cost of over Rs. 550 million will open its doors on Tuesday for the benefit of its key stakeholders.
The new infrastructure development project will provide enhanced facilities for the Institute’s 4300 members and over 37,000 aspiring chartered accountants. The multi-storeyed building also aims to demonstrate the Institute’s commitment to enhance the professional standards both at a local and global level.
Consisting of six floors and a roof-top terrace, the building located at Colombo 7, is constructed on a 44,000 sq. ft. floor area and includes several state-of-the-art lecture and study rooms accommodating up to 300 students, a fully-fledged IT laboratory with over 150 computers together with a student counselling and service centre.
The new building also boasts of a modern lounge for member networking and enhanced facilities to conduct continuous professional development programmes for the benefit of all CA Sri Lanka members. The building will also house various meeting and training rooms for the benefit of its members and students.
President of CA Sri Lanka Sujeewa Rajapakse declared that the soon-to-be completed building will be a new landmark not only for the city of Colombo but will also stand tall as a proud icon of the accounting profession.
“In an illustrious journey spanning over five decades, CA Sri Lanka has continuously endeavoured to provide the Sri Lankan Chartered Accountant with the best of facilities and services along with its globally recognised chartered accounting course. Soon, we will complete yet another groundbreaking initiative, and that will be to provide our primary stakeholders the best infrastructure facilities that the modern world has to offer,” he noted.
Chief Executive Officer of CA Sri Lanka Aruna Alwis noted that CA Sri Lanka, in its capacity as one of the largest professional organisations in the country, has always demonstrated exceptional professional standing.
“Our primary aim is to provide our members and students with enhanced facilities and this building project will ensure we achieve this goal. The CA Sri Lanka Business School which provides both academic and professional courses for the benefit of both accounting and non-accounting professionals will also be housed in the new multi-storeyed office complex of CA Sri Lanka,” Alwis added.
Work on CA Sri Lanka’s multi-storeyed building complex commenced in May last year.
