NUS Business School to conduct customised program on strategic human capital management

The faculty of NUS Business School, part of the National University of Singapore, acknowledged as one of the finest universities in the Asia-Pacific region, will be in Colombo to conduct the LAHES-NUS Strategic Human Capital Management program, from 26 to 29 September.



This is a rare opportunity for those in senior management roles, especially in the Human Resource Management and Development fields, both in the Private and Public sectors, to develop their skills and enhance knowledge on Human Capital Management.   

NUS is ranked second in Asia and placed 24th among the world’s top 100 universities by The Times Higher Education – Quacquarelli Symonds (THE-QS) World University Rankings.

This four day program covers come critical areas:   

Day one: Emerging Issues in HR and HR as a Business Partner: challenges faced by today’s HR; changing roles of HR; HR as a more strategic than supportive function; new competencies needed by HR practitioners to play the role of a strategic business partner.

Day two: Talent Management: the importance of developing a corporate culture and system that attract and retain talent; new reward and retention strategies and trends that appeal to the younger generation; the concept of Employee Value Proposition and what constitutes it; the issues and challenges of talent management. Day three: Counseling for HR – Theories and Application:  how professional counseling can make a significant difference in job performance; demonstration and practice basic counseling skills. The skills and knowledge gained in this session will be useful whether the setting is a formal counseling session or a casual impromptu dialogue with employees.

Day four: Developing Executive Intelligence in People: the essence of Executive Intelligence (EI) and its role in personal development and building effective professional networks and management; how EI can be developed and the role of HR in this.

The program is designed, developed and delivered by the faculty of NUS Business School. They will be in Sri Lanka to conduct the sessions. The participants of the program will receive a Certificate of Completion.
