Over 100 students win impressive accolades at IIHE graduation ceremony

A pioneer and leader in the education market providing high quality British degrees in Sri Lanka from the highly-ranked University of Wales, the Imperial Institute of Higher Education (IIHE), as their exclusive partner in Sri Lanka, held its convocation and graduation ceremony recently at the BMICH.

Graced by Chief Guest Deputy High Commissioner UK to Sri Lanka Laura Davies, the ceremony was also attended by other key members of IIHE including IIHE CEO Theekshani Dollamulla and IIHE Director Education Dr. T. Weerakoon. 

The graduation ceremony, that combined dignity, splendor and grandeur, saw over 100 graduates being conferred with prestigious and globally recognised qualifications from the University of Wales.

The Chief Guest addressed the gathering of students, parents, invited guests as well as alumni of the IIHE and congratulated the graduates on achieving success and attaining a qualification that is respected and accredited by employers globally.

Dollamulla in her speech said that moving into the real world the students would benefit more with the competence they have acquired with IIHE than the paperwork they would have completed. She also mentioned that success is a result of fearing failure and if you do not fear about failing then you might not have enough determination to work hard to succeed. She commended the graduates on their hard work and said that she was elated with the high standard of the students’ performance this year.

An impressive number of gold medals were bestowed on students this year, with top awards being carried away by Ayoma Nanayakkara, Navini Lathpandura and Christina Fernando, for the highest final average student from each batch for the BSc Business Management Program.

IIHE has been associated with the University of Wales since 1996, offering their internal degrees promotes quality education in Sri Lanka, acting as a“360 degree knowledge hub”. The establishment’s bachelors course students are most often recruited on premise by recognised corporates in Sri Lanka, prior to completion of their final exams; a fact that highlights the demand for and capabilities of those passing out from IIHE. 

The achievements gained at this year’s graduation stood testament to the sound backing that the institute gives its students in terms of the quality standards and single-minded focus on helping them attain excellence in their education.
