Renowned management accounting thought leaders Aubrey Joachim and Ravi Edirisinghe will address the CIMA Management Accounting Conference 2012, deliberating on the importance of the human dimension to sustainable success in an increasingly difficult business environment.
When assessing their key challenges, the 280 CEOs surveyed by CIMA and AICPA cited the need to understand value differently, by going beyond the financials and recognising the worth of people’s ideas, skills, knowledge and relationships as an asset unique to their organisation.
Discussing ‘Strategic Sourcing in Challenging Times,’ Joachim, FCMA CGMA, Principal Consultant, ‘Leading Edge Change’ training and business consulting and Past President of CIMA, will address the role of aligning sourcing options with business objectives and organisational strategies.
Joachim is a CIMA Fellow, an MBA from the Sydney Graduate School of Management and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. His 30 years of professional experience span across Asia, the Middle East, UK and Australia in senior finance positions with leading UK and US multi-national corporations and a major Australian public sector utility organisation.
Having been on the global speakers’ circuit for over 10 years, he set up his own boutique consultancy Leading Edge Change in 2005, and is now a management coach, mentor, management trainer and public speaker much in demand across New Zealand, Australia, South East Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, UK and the US. In his role as a CIMA ambassador, Aubrey has presented to the world’s leading organisations such as Ford, IBM, Barclays Bank, Rolls Royce, Unilever, Shell, Infosys, WNS, Swire Coca-Cola and Time Warner.
Ravi Edirisinghe, Vice President, Freight Links International (Pvt) Ltd/, in his presentation ‘Rebooting Business Through Intellectual Capital’ will show that extraordinary human talent drives a business aggressively towards its long term objectives.
Edirisinghe will demonstrate how intellectual capital can be developed by harnessing knowledge and developing a culture driven by professionalism and how a diverse and well-balanced knowledge of both financial and non financial areas of the business augments the value of intellectual capital. Edirisinghe possesses 20 years of work experience, in local, multinational and Fortune 500 organisations, covering CEO’s responsibilities, business development, financial management, manufacturing operations, and lean enterprise systems, and is currently employed as Vice President of Freight Links International. He has over 15 years of experience in imparting knowledge related to management studies, serving as a visiting lecturer for MBA studies at PIM and University of Moratuwa.
Edirisinghe is Fellow Member of CIMA-UK, an Associate Member of ACCA-UK, Member of CILT-UK and holds an MBA from PIM. He is currently reading for his PhD in Management Studies. Edirisinghe has served as an adviser to the Sri Lankan Government as a member of the road development steering committee and as a consultant to SLINTEC (Sri Lanka Institute of Nano Technology).
