Second Youth Leadership Program a success

IN-2.1 The Youth Leadership, Public Speaking and English Education program conducted by Speaker and Trainer Farill Farook was successfully concluded with an awards ceremony on 18 March.

The ceremony was attended by James L. Russo, Director/Public Affairs Officer and Rachna Korhonen, Management Officer, US Embassy Colombo, who were the Special Invitees and together with Farook handed out the certificates to the participants.

The program was conducted at the American Centre over a period of six weeks, and received a very positive response, with attendees coming from various parts of Sri Lanka, including Jaffna, Batticaloa, Puttalam, Diyatalawa, Matara, Kandy and Ratnapura, from diverse audiences such as students, professionals and those from the corporate world. The program was conducted in two batches due to the high demand, attracting over 800 applicants from which 150 members received nominations.

The finale covered several model speeches based on positive attitude, language, failures and success, personal journey, and also musical interludes which made it both entertaining and educational.
