Seylan Bank was awarded the Silver Award at the inaugural ‘People’s Development Awards’ which was conducted by the Sri Lanka Institute of Training and Development (SLITAD), held at Waters Edge recently.
The competing organisations were evaluated under core industrial strategies – business, learning and development, people management, leadership and management, management effectiveness, recognition and rewards, involvement and empowerment, learning and development, performance measurement and continuous improvement.
It was for the first time that SLITAD embarked on a task of this stature to recognise and reward organisations with best practices and personnel to recognise their efforts and achievements in people development. Seylan Bank was accordingly awarded for its hard work to ensure that people development is a strategic priority in its business success.
“People development is as important an area as brand and image building. Although the internet and automation play a pivotal and driving role in today’s rapidly evolving corporate world, the human factor remains a key aspect of our service delivery. We at Seylan Bank thus play great attention to our staff and the critical role they play in achieving our vision. This award is a great inspiration to all of us and especially our HR Team and motivates us to achieve greater heights,” Seylan Bank’s General Manager/CEO Kapila Ariyaratne said.
