Sri Lanka Association of Administrative and Professional Secretaries (SLAAPS) commenced their celebrations of the Administrative Professionals Week (APW) 2016 with a Flag Day and the awarding of scholarships to deserving students to assist them in their endeavour to excel in the secretarial profession.

The first flag was pinned on to Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Yi Xianliang at the Chinese Embassy recently by SLAAPS President Damayanthi Fernando. Five students selected to receive the scholarship this year received their scholarship from Ambassador Xianliang.

Administrative Professionals Week highlights the important role of administrative professionals in all sectors of the modern economy worldwide. It is celebrated globally in the last week of April in honour of administrative professionals.

SLAAPS has organised a series of events during the week commencing 25 April. The Flag Day and the awarding of scholarships on the 25th was the inaugural event to mark the APW 2016, which will be followed by a Fellowship Evening on the 27th at Galadari Hotel, and a seminar on 30 April, at Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel under the theme ‘Be the Change you want to Be’.
