SLF, CISI conduct eventful learning session on ‘Integrity Matters’

Sri Lanka Foundation, as the centre for leadership, education and training in Sri Lanka, takes initiatives to venture into new areas. With the growing demand for ethical aspects in the finance industry, the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) and Sri Lanka Foundation (SLF) jointly organised a public session on ‘Integrity Matters’ at SLF.

Simon Culhane, Chief Executive of the CISI, shared his wealth of experience with the local audience with an engaging management skills development session, which challenged the audience to think about how we could act when making ethical decisions in the work place using interactive technology by voting on how we could respond to ethical scenarios and virtually had an open debate on a couple of real life scenarios. Despite the fact that our choice remained private the results were collated and provided a platform for a lively discussion. He highlighted the value of integrity as a helping ingredient for us to think about how we would react to ethical dilemmas in the workplace. If integrity is foremost in our minds it means people can’t use the excuses as just following orders or simply they can’t understand. As a mark of his visit he officially launched the International Certificate in Wealth Management (ICWM) at SLF where he handed over the first brochure and the subject text book to Prof. Ranjith Bandara, Chairman, SLF. This course is a new addition to SLF-CISI course portfolio at SLF where two successful courses are running with the same institute namely Combating Financial Crime and Global Financial Compliance. Wealth management is one of the fastest growing areas within the financial services industry.
