Sri Lanka Foundation, the centre for leadership, education and training, in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI), launched a new course on Global Financial Compliance. This course caters to professionals and those aspiring to be professionals in banking and finance, insurance and stock broking companies.
Organisations require a joined-up compliance methodology and a practical approach to the challenges of cross-border regulation. This program offers insights to all compliance staff and is being introduced to the financial sector in Sri Lanka.
The Chief Guest at the ceremony Assistant Governor of the Central Bank P. Samarasiri, who emphasised the timely need for this course, highlighted instances in the local and global context where compliance was found wanting. The lead lecturer in charge of the course Bhanu Wijayaratne stressed the underlined principles of compliance and provided a brief overview of the course.

The SLF functions autonomously under the purview of the President of Sri Lanka and is managed by a Board of Management . SLF offers a wide range of academic programs in dynamic fields, namely, social and institutional development, psychology and counselling, business and enterprise management, language and ICT, digital film academy, and tourism and hospitality management.
Its novel addition is the centre for wellbeing to foster and nurture multi-dimensional aspects of improving quality of life.
