The Annual General Meeting of SLIM Bucks MBA will be held on 26 November 2013, from 6:30 p.m. onwards at the Hilton Colombo Residence, with the presence of its distinguished membership. A new Executive Committee will be elected at this AGM for the year 2014 and Pradeep Edward will continue to serve the Executive Committee as the immediate Past President.
The President of SLIM Gamika De Silva stated: “Alumni has been a tower of strength to the Bucks MBA program of SLIM and the events conducted have been of very high standard which added greater value to its MBA holders and professional and business fraternity in general.”
Throughout year 2012/2013, SLIM Bucks MBA Alumni were able to conduct many successful events such as knowledge sharing forums, best known as ‘Inner Circle Forum’, ‘CSR projects’, felicitation programs and networking events, which added immense value to its membership and the Bucks MBA program.
Speaking of the projects, Vice President Projects Priyantha Neelawala said: “The Inner Circle Forum we conducted with our cricketing legend, Kumar Sangakkara on leadership, at Hilton Colombo Residencies has been our key event for the year 2013, which has drawn over 500 participants.
“We also conducted a felicitation program in appreciation of the MBA lecturers who have been the pillar of our success and also the Sponsors who have been a tower of strength in all our events. However, the most heartfelt project we carried out was the CSR project in which we donated a fully fledged Computer Unit to Maduruketiya Junior School – Buttala.”
Speaking of the success story of SLIM Bucks MBA Alumni, Pradeep Edward said: “I am truly honoured and thankful to the alumni membership for having faith in me for two consecutive years to serve as the President and of course this phenomenal task was made easier with the skilful and much capable team in the Executive Committee, which I was fortunate to have.” Speaking further, Pradeep added: “We are extremely delighted at the way things have progressed for SLIM Bucks MBA Alumni during last couple of years to become where it is today. It is also very encouraging to see that many other similar Alumni Associations also are beginning to come forward to serve its membership and the student community in Sri Lanka. We are proud to set an example for everyone.”
He did not forget to thank his team for the great team effort and also the SLIM President Gamika De Silva and past presidents of SLIM, the CEO and staff at SLIM. He also extended his thanks to the Buckinghamshire University.
