Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) President Kalana Rathnayake has been appointed as one of the Vice Presidents of the prestigious Organisation of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka (OPA). SLIM, on behalf of the marketing fraternity, congratulated Rathnayake on this appointment and wished him success.
During his tenure as President Rathnayake has initiated an extensive revamping of SLIM products and services and has driven SLIM forward energetically to keep up with the ever changing marketing environment.
The OPA is a joint professional body which was established in 1974 to cater to the country’s growing need of professional opinion. The process was carried forward under the aegis of the Commonwealth Foundation based in the UK in order to have a joint voice in areas of economics, politics and policy.
Over the years the OPA has grown into a powerful civil society body consisting of an impressive list of member associations, currently standing at 44, with a total membership of approximately 50,000 professionals in various fields. The member organisations include and are spread across a vast number of sectors, ranging from medical to legal, engineering to marketing.
