SLITAD is ready to launch the very successful 17th batch of the revived National Diploma in Training and Human Talent Development (NDTHTD) on 28 March at the SLITAD Auditorium in Nawala.
This upgraded course is specially designed for those who wish to develop skills in identifying problems involving Human Resource Interventions; become an agent of organisational and behavioural change; design, develop, deliver and evaluate specific HRD interventions; achieve the required level of competencies of a Human Resource Development Manager/Trainer and upgrade oneself through continuous professional development.
The program is specially designed for professionals who need to adjust their time schedules in a flexible manner and is to be conducted in the newly refurbished SLITAD Auditorium which will facilitate a conducive learning environment.
Sri Lanka Institute of Training and Development (SLITAD) was founded in 1998 by a group of HRD professionals led by late Achilles Joseph former DIG and Director Higher Training of the Sri Lanka Police. Since 1998, SLITAD has been actively involved in carrying out its mission and is now evolved to a well-established organisation dedicated to uplift the professional standards of human resources development with more than 200 members in fellow, member, associate, affiliate, student and institutional categories.
The institute is affiliated to the Asian Regional Training and Development (ARTDO). The institute is managed by an Executive Council with a President at the apex level elected by the membership as per its constitution and the current President is Chandra Fernando, Former Inspector General of Police.
The National Diploma in Training and Human Talent Development (NDTHTD) comprises 14 modules including, inter alia, competency based training, psychology for trainers, designing and developing training solutions, talent management and development, communication skills, academic writing and project reports. The teaching methodology consists of case studies, critical incidents, simulations, workshops, lectures, seminars, presentations and sharing experiences, etc.
In addition, the participants will carry out group activities and syndicate presentations to improve their skills and competencies in HRD. The evaluation criteria are based on practical and industry specific assignments, presentations, written examinations and a project. Much weight has been given to the presentation skills sphere.
The training course, which is approved by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC), is aimed at those who possess a degree from a recognised university or equivalent qualification or five years experience in training or HR in the field of marketing, sales, education, IT etc. or those who function as Training and HR Managers and HRD managers in organisations. The duration of the course is one year and the medium of instructions is English. The lectures will be held on alternate Saturdays.
