The Sri Lanka Institute of Training and Development (SLITAD) celebrated its Members’ Day at the Police Families Welfare Association Auditorium Colombo 5. This colourful celebration was attended by many of its members and the HR minded professionals. A SLITAD free evening lecture series (An Evening for Trainers-EFT) was launched on this day and its inaugural lecture was delivered by Sponge Global Learning CEO Sampath Thrimavithana under the theme of ‘Insights to Trainers’. Participants enjoyed this knowledge provoking lecture and looking forward for the next evening lecture in May (bi-monthly).
Members who joined the institute during the last year and students who have completed the National Diploma in Training and Development and were unable to obtain their certificates at the award ceremony were awarded with their certificates at this function.
SLITAD also felicitated two of its distinguished members for their outstanding achievements, at this function. Major General (Dr.) Lakshman David for being promoted to the rank of Major General and Professor T. Thanaraj for being appointed as the Professor at the Open University of Sri Lanka are the two proud members felicitated by SLITAD on this day.
SLITAD was founded in 1998 by a group of HRD Professionals led by late Achilles Joseph, former DIG and Director Higher Training Institute of the Sri Lanka Police. Since 1998, SLITAD has been actively involved in carrying out its mission and now is evolved to a well established organisation dedicated to uplift the professional standards of human resources development with more than 200 members in fellow, member, associate, affiliate, students and institutional categories.
