SLITAD ready to commence new batch for professional trainers

The 16th batch of the National Diploma in Training and Development conducted by the SLITAD is to commence on 01 March 2014. It is specially designed for those who wish to develop their skills and competencies in Human Resource Development (HRD) in Training, Training Administration and Human Capital Development.
Sri Lanka Institute of Training and Development (SLITAD) was founded in 1998 by a group of HRD professionals led by late Achilles Joseph former DIG and Director Higher Training of the Sri Lanka Police. Since 1998, SLITAD has been actively involved in carrying out its mission and is now evolved to a well-established organisation dedicated to uplift the professional standards of human resources development with more than 200 members in Fellow, Member, Associate, Affiliate, Student and Institutional categories.
SLITAD, through its academy, conducts a comprehensive study program leading to National Diploma in Training and Development which is presented by an experienced panel of HRD professional trainers. The institute is affiliated to the Asian Regional Training and Development. It is managed by an Executive Council with a President at the apex level elected by the membership as per its constitution and the current President is Eastman Narangoda, Former Chairman Seylan Bank.
The National Diploma in Training and Development comprises 10 modules and the teaching methodology consists of Case Studies, Critical Incidents, Simulations, Work Shops, Lectures, Seminars, Presentations, outbound training and Sharing Experiences. In addition, the participants will carry out group activities and syndicate presentations to improve their skills and competencies in HRD.
The evaluation criteria are based on practical and industry specific Assignments, Presentations, Written Examinations and a Project. Much weight has been given to the Presentation Skills sphere and the students have to make more than eight presentations during the course and it makes them as a fearless presenter at the end of the course. Anyone involved in HRD with three years’ experience, a degree holder or those who qualified in Human Resource Management discipline can follow this course. The duration of the course is one year and the medium of instructions is English. The lectures will be held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Diploma in HRD is designed with emphasis and focus on the competencies to be acquired by the participants, so that at the end of the course they will be full pledged Trainers.
