The members of the Sri Lanka Association of Administrative and Professional Secretaries (SLAAPS) recently attended the 23rd Congress of the Association of Secretaries and Administrative Professionals in Asia-Pacific (ASA) held in Manila, Philippines from 25 to 29 September 2016. The theme of the 23rd Congress was “Today’s Vision - Tomorrow’s Reality”.
The Congress was a learning event for member-associations, secretaries, executive assistants and administrative professionals and an opportunity for networking as well as an opening to grow together with our peers and create bonds that will last beyond the congress and add dimensions to our career.
The Association of Secretaries and Administrative Professional in Asia-Pacific (ASA) was founded in 1974 in Manila, Philippines and today it has 14 member countries. SLAAPS became a member of the ASA in the year 1990 at the 9th Congress held in Pakistan. The Congress is held once in two years, hosted on a rotation basis and Sri Lanka had the honour of hosting the 14th Congress in the year 2000.
The Vision of the ASA is to be recognised as the apex body for Secretarial and Administrative Professional Associations in Asia Pacific and the Mission is to promote friendship, understanding and exchange ideas and experiences among the Secretarial and Administrative Professional Associations in Asia Pacific.
