Sri Lanka Foundation – Awards Ceremony 2013

Sri Lanka Foundation (SLF), the centre for Leadership, Education and Training successfully held its awards ceremony 2013 recently. The Chief Guest was Ministry of Botanical Gardens and Public Recreation Secretary Dr. Willie Gamage. The Guest of honour was SLF Board of Study Chairman and SLF Board of Management Member Deshamanya Prof. W.D. Laksman. SLF Chairman Prof. Ranjith Bandara and members of the board of management, board of studies and the SLF academic team were present on this occasion. Those who have successfully completed the Higher National/Advanced diploma, National diploma and certificate courses in 2011, 2012 and 2013 were awarded certificates. The SLF is known to be the foremost and pioneering Adult Education Centre in Sri Lanka incorporated by an Act of Parliament, the SLF Law No.31 of 1973 and has now consolidated its position as the national centre for Leadership, Education and Training. SLF functions autonomously under the purview of the Presidential secretariat and is managed by a Board. SLF offers a wide range of dynamic academic programs through its units namely, Social and Institutional Development Unit, Psychology and Counselling Unit, Business and Enterprise Development Unit, Language and ICT Unit, Digital Film Academy, Tourism & Hospitality Management Unit, and Centre for Wellbeing. The SLF symbolises diverse learning experiences with public and private sector partnerships ensuring programs of high quality where all programs are registered under the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission of Sri Lanka. Academic operations are monitored and evaluated by a Board of study and a Board of Examiners backed by a comprehensive academic registrar unit.
