Sri Lanka Institute of Credit Management to host 19th Annual Convocation

The Sri Lanka Institute of Credit Management (SLICM) the leading institute which offers credit management education in Sri Lanka will host its 19th Annual convocation on 20 April at the Centre for Banking Studies.

Prof. Ajantha Dharmasiri, Director of Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) will attend the occasion as the Chief Guest. CEOs of the financial services sector and senior staff of Central Bank will also attend the only convocation dedicated for credit management academics.

Themed ‘Quest for Sustainable Credit Practices in Sri Lanka,’ over 190 students will be passing out from Advanced Professional Diploma in Credit Management and Certificate in Micro Credit Management programmes, Executive Diploma in Islamic Credit Management, Executive Certificate in Marketing Credit Instruments.

SLICM President Lyle Peiris said: “The key objective of SLICM is to fulfill the education and training standards of the banking and the non-banking financial industry to aspire an advanced financial services sector by 2020. It is no doubt that the knowledge in handling and managing credit will determine the success of a business.”

SLICM Secretary Jithendra Gunatilake added: “The convocation will not only be an opportunity for students to celebrate their educational achievements, but also an opportunity for students and all attendees to realize the significance of focusing on the importance of adopting sustainable practices in lending.”

The main programme of SLICM is the Advanced Professional Diploma in Credit a 12 month long programme which leads towards the Associate Membership of SLICM and Chartered Institute of Credit Management, UK. Further SLICM offers an Executive Diploma in Islamic Credit Management, Executive Certificate in Marketing Credit Instruments and Certificate in Micro Credit Management.

Associate Members of SLICM are entitled to use the affix “AICM” following their name and the AICM holders are eligible to obtain the Associate Membership of Chartered Institute of Credit Management UK. Further Advanced Professional Diploma in Credit Management programme can be read using a state of the art E-learning platform, All Asia Institute.
