Sri Lanka Insurance “Suba Pathum” Scholarship scheme calls for applications from GCE A/L completed s

Sri Lanka Insurance is now calling for applications from the G.C.E. A/L students who have excelled at the G.C.E. A/L exam held in August 2013 under the “Suba Pathum” Scholarship scheme. Sri Lanka Insurance launched this unique scholarship scheme in June last year in an effort to nurture an academically sound generation. Out of the applications received under the Sri Lanka Insurance “Suba Pathum” scheme, the 25 top ranking students from each streams Bio, Mathematics, Commerce and Arts will be selected totalling to 100 Students.  A scholarship award of Rs 50, 000/- will be awarded to each student as a lump sum payment. If the student’s Parents or the guardian is a Sri Lanka Insurance Life Policyholder the benefit will be offered for a continuous period as an annual payment for three years. Hence there is a long term benefit for Sri Lanka Insurance Life Policyholders through this scheme. The applications are available at all SLIC branches island wide and can be downloaded from the SLIC Web site. The applications will be taken in to consideration till 31st January 2014. Applications are called prior to this date to the address mentioned in the application form to qualify for the “Suba Pathum” Scholarship scheme. “Suba Pathum” Scheme also extended to the Top four district level ranking students of the G.C.E (O/L) who will receive a lump sum of Rs40,000 each. The applications for the G C E (O/L) Students will be called for in the future. Applications for scholarship for Grade 5 students who sat for the government scholarship exam closed on December 31st 2013. The Scheme will be in effect for the students who sit the examinations from 2013 onwards.
