Sri Lanka’s Kishor Hameed was chosen as a Stakeholder Council Member to the Amsterdam-based Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). He is the first Sri Lankan to be appointed to this role following a stakeholder election held recently. The GRI is a leading organisation in the sustainability arena, promoting the use of Triple Bottom Line reporting as a way for organisations to become more sustainable and contribute to development.
Counting over 10 years’ experience in sustainability, stakeholder engagement and communications, Hameed currently heads Sustainability and Stakeholder Engagement for Maga Engineering Ltd, Sri Lanka’s largest construction conglomerate.
Commenting on Kishor’s appointment, GRI Deputy Chief Executive Teresa Fogelberg said, “We are privileged to welcome Kishor Hameed as a Stakeholder Council Member to GRI, our first representative from Sri Lanka. Hameed presents a wealth of experience from Sri Lankan blue chips which have broken new ground in sustainable reporting in the region, on the back of some commendable Triple Bottom Line initiatives all over Sri Lanka. We look forward to incorporating his experience and knowledge to transform GRI into an even more impactful global organisation, as we continue our focus and growth in the Asian region.”
Hameed holds a Masters in Business Administration from Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Colombo and a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, United Kingdom.
