  • CSN and Lanka Canaries partner with the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in developing future graduates
The first ever adventurous city-romping competition organised by a Sri Lankan university, ‘Strangers 2014’ is being organised for the second consecutive year by the Marketing Management Association (MMA) of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura on 15 October. CSN will be the competition’s media partner while Lanka Canaries will be its official beverage partner. ‘Strangers 2014’ will carry the theme “Healthy Brains, Responsible Marketing” with the aim of promoting good health, wellbeing and sports culture among university undergraduates. “We have observed that interest for a sporting culture among university undergraduates is very less. They always tend to be involved with studies but pay less attention to health and wellbeing. As we believe that future brains must be more positive about good health and wellbeing, we along with Sri Lanka marketers from local corporates collaboratively organise ‘Strangers’ to emphasise the value of health, wellbeing and sports while engaging with a one of a kind amazing city romping experience,” Event Coordinator Ravipriya Bandara stated. Ninety contestants divided into nine groups will take up the challenge of accomplishing the tasks that they meet through exclusive city routes which run around the metro city limits of Nugegoda and Maharagama. The event continues for one full day starting from 8 a.m. and will conclude with an awards ceremony hosted during a camp fire in the evening which will be coloured by entertainment activities featuring contestants and children from the Nochigo Children’s Home, Pelpiliyana in line with the CSR initiative of ‘Strangers’. “Besides the challenging activities contestants face, this program also intends to generate an invaluable inner journey of self-reflection for all the contestants. We invite responsible marketers and interest groups from all over the country to join hands with this good cause,” Bandara added.
