The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka is presenting an evening seminar on Quality & Productivity – the Japanese Way, facilitated by Sunil Wijesinha, an expert on Japanese Management Techniques and a pioneer in introducing many Japanese techniques to Sri Lanka. The program will be on Tuesday, 24 June 2014 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m at the National Chamber auditorium, 450 D.R. Wijewardene Mawatha, Colombo -10.The presentation is intended to inspire participants to adapt and implement some important philosophies, techniques and developing best practices in management issues that have stood out in Japan, so that they could adopt them in their own organisations.This presentation will cover the following:

nIntroduction to the Evolution of Japanese Management
nCultural aspects of Japanese Management
nThe culture free elements relevant for Sri Lanka
nKaizen and techniques under the Kaizen umbrella including a brief introduction to Quality Circles, HoshinKanri, Poka Yoke, Gemba Management, TQM, TPM
nHow Sri Lankan manufacturing and service organisations can implement these techniques with benefit.
It is well known how the Japanese revolutionised Quality and Productivity and how they engaged the workforce to produce their economic miracle. The presentation will be laced with many anecdotes, examples and actual experiences. The presentation is most suitable for those who want a quick overview of the Japanese Way, and a quick introduction to basic techniques. It is suitable for persons at any level in any organisation such as service organisations including banks, shops, offices, workshops, plantations, factories etc.
Sunil G. Wijesinha is a well renowned trainer and a popular speaker on Productivity,Quality and Japanese Management in Sri Lanka and in the Asian countries. Having followed many training programs in Japan, he is the pioneer in introducing Quality Circles and 5S to Sri Lanka and has received many Awards locally and internationally. He has visited Japan over 30 times and has worked with Japanese experts where he worked. He has practical experience in implementing Japanese techniques in many organisations as a CEO and as a consultant.
