The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) offers exemptions to students who have studied other relevant qualifications. This means students can start their studies at a level that is consistent with the knowledge and skills gained from prior learning, providing them with the quickest route to ACCA membership.
Amongst a number of academic and professional qualifications, ACCA offers exemptions for CIMA passed finalists. ACCA will award nine papers from Fundamentals level so that CIMA passed finalists need to only complete the professional level of ACCA to obtain the qualification.
To add more value, the exemption fees are also waived off for CIMA members and passed finalists under this special offer. However, this would be a limited offer. Students who register through this offer require paying the initial registration fees, annual subscriptions and the professional level paper fees. By waiving off the exemption fees ACCA supports CIMA members and passed finalists to upgrade their qualification and become ACCA complete finance professionals.
Students with the respective exemptions will also have the opportunity of obtaining the full qualification of ACCA at a much lesser cost due to the reduced number of subjects they have to undertake.
CIMA members and passed finalists can now apply for this exemption scheme by sending in their applications to the ACCA Sri Lanka office, on or before the 10th March with the relevant supporting documents. Students are invited to contact the ACCA Sri Lanka office to receive further information.
ACCA Sri Lanka Head Nilusha Ranasinghe said such initiatives were launched with the intention of ensuring the development of the finance profession in the country. She further emphasised that the new exemption scheme will be a further boost in increasing the popularity of the ACCA qualification and will also give professionals further access to a recognised qualification that has a great acceptability amongst leading organisations and employers both locally and internationally .
ACCA’s reputation is grounded in over 100 years of providing accounting and financial qualifications to a number of key professionals and industry leaders. It is currently one of the most successful finance professional qualifications the world over followed by professionals both at junior and senior levels and well-established corporate leaders in the country, who have made a mark in the industry.
