Dilshan Aloka Sri Wijegunasekera, a prominent Sri Lankan journalist, has just mounted another level of success in his life as he has been given the appointment as the Publicity Ambassador for the Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), a Seoul-based international peace organisation in association with the United Nations Department of Public Information (UNDPI).
Wijegunasekera got this new appointment at the peace network dialogue co-hosted by the HWP Land Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian Research and Training Institute (HARTI) on 10 April in Colombo, and he was given the certificate by Hannah Roh, a Special Representative of International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG).
Being appointed as an HWPL Publicity Ambassador, Wijegunasekera pledged to cooperate in the peace movements in the local communities.
More than 40 figures of social leaders in Government, women and youth group, religious leaders and journalists attended the peace network dialogue including Education Ministry Divisional Director Kusala Kumara Fernando, Sri Lanka United Nations Friendship Organisation (SUNFO) Director General Dr. Deshapriya Wijetunge and National Peace Council (NPC) Executive Director Dr. Jehan Perera.
HWPL is an international peace organisation officially registered in the Seoul Metropolitan City under the regulation of non-profit organisation specified in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and transcends differences in culture, belief and region to engage leaders and youth in sustainable and comprehensive solutions for peace. It has around 170 branches of itself in all around the world.
HWPL has been actively working for the implementation of the international law and for the interfaith harmony in religions that actually are effective enough to approach the cessation of any kinds of violence.
