Workshop for library and information professionals

The Sri Lanka Library Association with the support of IFLA/BSLA project has initiated a program to promote and propagate Professional Conduct and Ethical (PCE) Culture among Library and Information Professionals in Sri Lanka. 

As the initial phase a 3-day workshop to train the trainers (ToT) on PCE has been organised. The workshop is facilitated by a BSLA trainer, Prof. Gillian Hallam from the Queensland University of Technology, Australia from 23 - 25 March at Hotel Renuka, Colombo.

Codes of professional ethics established by professional organisations to help guide members in performing their job functions according to sound and consistent  ethical principles, will be the focus of this program.

The SLLA understands the importance of promoting and propagation of PCE among LIS professionals in the country to enhance the quality of the discipline and practices of management of libraries and information services. 

The Inauguration of this program will be held on the 23 March, 2016 at 8:45 a.m. at Hotel Renuka, Colombo.
