Corporations are deriving significant benefits from embedding sustainability into their business models, which is also key for long term competitive advantage. Sustainability is also driving change within organisations through a differentiated sustainability approach, effective execution of sustainability initiatives, and targeted communication to internal and external stakeholders.
On 6 September 2013 the latest version of the Global Reporting Initiative’s Sustainability Reporting Guidelines G4 was launched in Colombo Srilanka. Since then companies in South Asia are gradually adopting and using G4.
GRI Focal Point India in partnership with Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka will organise a workshop on G4 in Sri Lanka (CMA) to enhance more reporting and improve the quality of reports in South Asia. The workshop will cover significant aspects of Sustainability Reporting based on GRI G4 framework. The workshop will give an opportunity of peer to peer learning from some of the leading experienced reporters.
The workshop will also enable participants to identify the main characteristics of the GRI framework. The workshop is designed in a way to have the right balance of learning, debates & group exercises.
The GRI Introductory workshops show how the GRI Sustainability Reporting Framework helps organisations report their economic, environmental, social and governance performance, helping them to identify areas where they can improve and bring significant change.
The workshop helps participants understand why organisations of all types and sizes go through the process of sustainability reporting and disclose their performance.
Workshop is ideal for organisations currently looking at improvements in disclosing sustainability information and those with little or no sustainability reporting experience.
The workshop covers issues like the principle of Materiality, stakeholder engagement and GRI reporting process.
This two days workshop is specially designed to meet clients’ needs.
The workshop is meant for: Members of CMA, Chartered and Management Accountants, Financials Analysts, Directors, CEOs, Senior Managers, Executives, Management Trainees, Academics and Government officials.
