Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has assured rapid implementation of National Action Plan to eliminate terrorism from the country. He was chairing a high level meeting held in Islamabad to review progress on implementation of the National Action Plan. He said that extra-ordinary steps were being taken including establishment of Special Trial Courts to deal with terrorists. The Prime Minister said only those cases will be referred to the special courts, which relate to hardcore terrorists responsible for mass murder of innocent civilians, children and jawans of law enforcement agencies. Nawaz Sharif said we have isolated terrorists with our unity and will take them to task by implementing the National Action Plan. The Prime Minister said a peaceful and secure Pakistan is our future and our armed forces are making all out efforts to achieve these objectives. The meeting also reviewed actions being planned to block funding for terrorist groups and breaking the terrorists’ communication network. Progress on action against illegal SIMs also came under discussion. Federal Ministers Khawaja Asif, Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Pervaiz Rashid; Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan; Ahsan Iqbal; Abdul Qadir Baloch; Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan; Advisor on National Security Sartaj Aziz, Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif; Special Assistant to PM, Barrister Zafarullah Khan, DG ISI, DG MO and Secretary Interior attended the meeting. Later, the Director General ISPR Asim Saleem Bajwa said that the meeting reviewed all dimensions of National Action Plan.
