BCS announces 24th National ICT Awards – NBQSA 2022 to boost local ICT industry

BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT Sri Lanka Section has announced the launch of the 24th edition of the National ICT Awards – NBQSA 2022. 

The NBQSA is the most prestigious competition in Sri Lanka’s ICT industry and recognises outstanding achievements by individuals and organisations who develop ICT products and services. The competition also provides a window for those individuals and organisations to receive international recognition for local ICT products and services. 

National ICT Awards – NBQSA 2022 Chairman Sanharsha Jayatissa said:  “I am honoured to chair the National ICT Awards – NBQSA 2022, as it is the most prestigious award ceremony in Sri Lanka’s ICT Industry. I am greatly looking forward to the competition and hope to see Sri Lanka’s ICT industry reach unprecedented levels.”

National ICT Awards- NBQSA 2022 Chief Judge Geethapriya Tillekeratne said:  “I have been the Chief Judge at the National ICT Awards for a number of years, and I have seen how the ICT industry and the awards have grown. I am honoured and I look forward to the awards ceremony, and I hope to see an even bigger array of participants than I have in the past years.”

Annually the competition has seen a significant increase in participants, both organisations and individuals. The National ICT Awards – NBQSA 2022, is the flagship event of BCS Sri Lanka Section and has created a unique platform to help elevate the ICT industry in Sri Lanka to international standards. Previous nominees from the National ICT Awards – NBQSA have competed at the Asia Pacific ICT Awards and reached incredible heights with recognition of the highest order.  BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT Sri Lanka Section Chairman Vajeendra S. Kandegamage  said: “As the foremost Chartered IT Professional body in Sri Lanka, one of our efforts is striving to facilitate the quality improvements in the products and services created by Sri Lankans. We recognise the best quality of ICT products and services created by them and facilitate business matching and investment promotions for local ICT products and companies. This greatest effort came in the form of the National ICT Awards which evolved over the years. The winners are eligible to participate at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards directly. We intend to further expand these activities at this critical juncture since we believe Sri Lanka’s future could be determined by the growth of the ICT Industry.”
