The Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL), the premier organisation dedicated to promoting and improving professional standards in the Information Communication and Technology (ICT) sector of Sri Lanka has called nominations/applications for its ‘CSSL ICT Awards 2018’, which celebrates excellence in ICT.
‘CSSL ICT Awards 2018’ will be held for the sixth consecutive year this time. More information about it can be obtained at www.cssl.lk. Nominations/Applications are closed on 31 August. These awards are being presented to encourage, recognise and celebrate the best and finest of ICT professionals.
CSSL ICT Awards 2018 ceremony will be held in conjunction with NITC-2018. The 36th National Information Technology Conference (NITC-2018) themed ‘It changes everything’ organised by Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) will be held on 2-4 October at Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo Sri Lanka. National IT Conference (NITC) which has run for 35 years annually in Sri Lanka is organised by Computer Society of Sri Lanka.
This year, the CSSL presents awards for excellence in nine categories, namely: ICT Leader of the Year, CIO of the Year, Best Start-up of the Year, Female ICT Leader of the Year, Emerging ICT Leader of the Year, ICT Education of the Year, ICT Researcher of the Year, ICT Student Awards – Undergraduate Category and ICT Student Awards – School Category. CSSL President Yasas V. Abeywickrama said that CSSL as the professional association for people in ICT in Sri Lanka is responsible for recognising achievements of best and finest of ICT professionals and also the fact that he believes that this initiative encourages ICT professionals in the country to do better, since there is a benchmark set by this awards program. The Computer Society of Sri Lanka which was established in 1976 is the apex body representing Information and Communications Technology professionals in Sri Lanka. It promotes professionalism among those engaged in the field of ICT, and maintains the highest professional standards among the Information and Communication Technology fraternity.
The CSSL is a member of the South East Asia Regional Computer Confederation (SEARCC) and International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP). Locally, it is a member of Organization for Professional Associations (OPA).
