Connect Co. placed amongst top 3 at ‘She Loves Tech’ 2021 Sri Lanka

• She Loves Tech is the world’s largest startup competition for women and technology

Connect Community Global Ltd. (Connect Co.) Co-Founder Shenelle Perera recently placed in the top three at ‘She Loves Tech’ held recently, via a remotely held local finale on Zoom. 

The program, which brings together national and international entrepreneurs aims to provide empowered female techpreneurs with an international platform for accelerating startups

Chosen as one of the top three winners, out of 75 companies across Sri Lanka, participants were afforded five minutes to pitch their start-up concept to a panel of local judges. The competition hosted in Sri Lanka was conducted in partnership with Hatch Works and took place over a period of one month.

Commenting on her national placement, Perera stated: “Women represent a new generation of innovation and disruptive thinking. Typical feminine characteristics such as empathy and emotion which were considered to be traditional biases are now changing business culture with women bringing a new spectrum of thinking to the table. Empowered by technology, they are changing the way we live and work.”

The 2021 She Loves Tech Competition takes place in over 40 countries, including Australia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greater China, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, USA, the UAE and the UK. The competition brings together over 3,000 companies from across the globe for its international finals. This year’s international finals are expected to be held in December. 

Concluding, Perera, stated: “‘She Loves Tech’ offered us an opportunity to showcase the innovative solutions and developments Connect Co. uses throughout its business operations and in customer management. I thank the organisers for the opportunity to have been part of this competition and I hope more females will continue to exploit these opportunities to showcase the immense talent we have in Sri Lanka and overseas.”
