CryptoGen, recently announced that its Security Operations Centre (SOC) has successfully achieved the SOC 2 Type 2 compliance and attestation.

This significant milestone reinforces CryptoGen’s dedication to ensuring the highest level of

security, availability, confidentiality, and integrity in its services for businesses across critical industries.

The SOC 2 Type 2 compliance and attestation is awarded based on an independent audit carried out by a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) accredited by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), that evaluates the operational effectiveness of an organisation’s systems and controls over an extended period. It underscores CryptoGen’s rigorous commitment to safeguarding client data and its proactive approach in managing cybersecurity risks. The certification demonstrates that CryptoGen’s SOC adheres to the most stringent security standards, which is especially vital for organisations in highly regulated sectors such as finance, healthcare, and government.

CryptoGen Founder and CEO Wasantha Perera operationalising all these strategies for decades, commented on the achievement, stating, “SOC 2 Type 2 audits require a greater investment of both time and resources however, achieving SOC 2 Type 2 certification is a testament to our unwavering commitment to protecting our clients’ most sensitive data. In an era where cybersecurity threats are more pervasive than ever, this certification reinforces our role as a trusted partner in providing higher assurance in Incident Response.”

CryptoGen’s SOC is an integral part of the Cyber Defence Centre (CDC), the dedicated facility to prevent, detect, assess and respond to advanced cybersecurity threats and breaches 24X7 for many clients in the region. The company’s advanced capabilities in incident response and threat intelligence services empower organisations to address threats effectively and maintain continuous business operations.

CryptoGen Independent Director and Principal Consultant – SOC 2 certification Buddhika De Alwis said: “Our SOC 2 Type 2 certification reflects our long-standing focus on providing industry-leading cybersecurity services. We continuously strive to enhance our infrastructure, ensuring that our clients receive the highest levels of protection and trust in their cybersecurity investments. This will be added to our list of compliances that we maintain including the latest version of the ISO/IEC 27001:2022, to provide service assurance and more confidence on our processes to clients.”

CryptoGen said the latest achievement strengthens its market position as a leader in Security Operations (SecOps) and demonstrates its ongoing commitment to excellence in protecting client data with effective internal controls over a period of time.
