Launches ‘Thalir’ a seed funding program that supports future business leaders.
D P Infotech Ltd. (DPIN), a subsidiary of the David Pieris Group and a leading IT company, recently opened a development centre in Jaffna.
Located in the heart of Jaffna at the DPMC Regional Office premises on No. 61, Palaly Road, this was officially opened by David Pieris Group,Group Chairman and Managing Director Rohana Dissanayake. The new centre represents a transformative shift for DPIN as it exemplifies the company’s dedication to creating a dynamic work environment – one which inspires innovation and development.
Commenting at the opening the Group Chairman and Managing Director Rohana Dissanayake stated: “It is with great expectation that we open the new DPIN development centre, a space that we hope will encourage creativity and collaboration where our employees have the freedom to develop new products and thrive in the process. This project is part of our Northern Development programme. We believe in creating opportunities and supporting local communities to achieve their true potential which will invariably help create and nurture a progressive country.”
The Group’s commitment to the country’s northern region is also reflected in that they have been actively participating in the career fair organised by the University of Jaffna and subsequently recruited interns from various disciplines to gain work experience within the David Pieris Group of Companies. In addition, ‘Thalir’ a Seed Funding Programme powered by David Pieris Group was launched to assist and nurture northern entrepreneurs who aspire to take bold strides and achieve great heights. While funding a business or an idea will be the focus, the Group also intends to provide future entrepreneurs with the training and mentoring required to be progressive business leaders. Students of the Computer and Engineering faculties of the University of Jaffna who topped their respective batches were also recognised and feted. This project is the first of a series that would be implemented island-wide.
