Dialog’s APPMAKER wins top honours at e-Swabhimani Digital Social Impact Awards 2019

APPMAKER, an Android application creation solution by Ideamart, a platform for developers and content providers presented by Dialog Axiata PLC, Sri Lanka’s premier connectivity provider, was adjudged by a grand jury as the winner of the Inclusion and Empowerment category of the e-Swabhimani Digital Social Impact Awards.

APPMAKER was recognised by the e-Swabhimani Digital Social Impact Awards, hosted by ICTA, for providing a platform for anyone, even those with zero programming knowledge, to create an Android application within 5 minutes using a few easy clicks and eliminating the need of creating native Android development. e-Swabhimani Awards hosted by ICTA is an awarding body which recognises outstanding, forward-thinking and truly innovative local digital solutions and hi-tech applications that have created a positive social impact by helping make society more inclusive and efficient, offering new services, and empowering citizens.

This platform is the latest app creation platform introduced by Ideamart, an inspiring young and upcoming company fuelled by entrepreneurship, partnering with Simato VAS Solutions Ltd.; and is the first and only Android app creation platform built on top of telco infrastructure. Simato Solutions has been in the Mobile Value-Added Services (VAS) business since 2008 and has been at the forefront of providing mobile content and services. APPMAKER was created to simplify the process for anyone to develop a mobile application/website without any prerequisite programming experience.

APPMAKER enables users to create Android applications using varieties of pre-built templates to create and customise their applications as per their requirement, where users can add categories, pages and rich media content to them. The platform provides 13 different varieties of templates for different use cases, including astrology, health and fitness, news, and e-commerce. APPMAKER allows application creators to update real-time content, send push notifications to the users, monetise the application using telco infrastructure, and upload their application to Google Play Store.
