Innovative smartphone manufacturer Huawei has recently announced that EMUI 10 is the next major EMUI update that is scheduled to launch for smartphones of the Huawei P30 series, Mate 20 series and Nova 5T in Sri Lanka.

The EMUI 10 is based on Google’s latest Android Q OS and is programed to come with 60% improvements in GPU Turbo, over 20% improvements in EROFS ROM and brings the much-awaited system-wide dark mode as well as multi-screen support. The phone models eligible for the EMUI 10.0 upgrade include the Huawei P30 Pro, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 and the newly-launched Nova 5T.

EMUI10 enables a seamless and connected experience to avail the user across devices in all scenarios. The brand new visual designs together with distinguished detail will astound users at first sight and guarantee long-lasting comfort. The new dark mode will also be able to extend to third-party apps which is a welcome addition for those who prefer darker menus. There are to be more clock and calendar styles as well as additional ‘Always on Display’ options. The users would need to apply in the HiCare app to enjoy the updated features such as a meticulously-crafted, premium UX design bringing a better experience to users, multi-screen collaboration for smart office operations and enhanced security.

Users will be able to enjoy premium interface with features such as magazine-style layout, classic Morandi palette design, intuitive dark mode settings and animation design. The functions of the AppAssistant are also further optimised, in which users can customise the floating window in settings. During gameplay, you can use the Floating window to enter PiP mode. This feature is currently supported with main five social media apps: Facebook, WhatsApp, WeChat and Telegram.

Huawei launched its first own Android-based mobile operating system (OS), EMUI, in 2012 December and keeps working diligently to introduce advanced features of the EMUI 10 to all the consumers of HUAWEI smartphones. Alongside the growth of Huawei’s smartphone users, EMUI is now serving 480 million active users with annual upgrades boosting the performance of HUAWEI hardware.

“We are proud to introduce this element of advanced technology, EMUI 10, to our consumers,” Huawei Devices Sri Lanka Country Head Peter Liu commented. “The highly enhanced features that come along with the update will benefit our customers significantly and we look forward to provide this more improved experience to our customers in the hope that they receive a better service from our products.”

EMUI 10 is scheduled to reach several Huawei smartphones in Sri Lanka. As a step up to wireless projection, multi-screen collaboration has enabled real-time collaboration between laptops and smartphones. With just one tap, the smartphone screen will show up on the laptop following which the user can control both devices at the same time using the keyboard and mouse. It is possible to drag and drop files between devices and edit files on the laptop while engaging in your smartphone using the same keyboard.

In order to use the multi-screen collaboration, the phone must be equipped with the HiSilicon Kirin 980 (or later), and HiSilicon Hi1103 or Broadcom BCM 43596 as a Wi-Fi chipset. The notebook must be HUAWEI MateBook 13, MateBook 14 or MateBook X Pro 2019, installed with PC Manager 10.0 or a later version.

Inspired by the Morandi gradient colour scheme, EMUI10 complements mild textures with translucency to create a sense of tranquillity. The essence of EMUI10 animation design is to explore and follow the laws of nature and human instincts. The newly-added elastic touch, swiping trajectory and comfortable transition deliver a smooth and natural experience in touch, vision and sensation.

The new EMUI 10 creates an option to remove all trivial designs hindering reading and apply bigger fonts with grid lines to focus your attention. The magazine-like layouts will absorb the user for a more enchanting reading experience.

Instead of simply reversing the black and white colour, repeated human-centric lab tests provide undisputed reference for selecting the most comfortable colour contrast and gradation in dark mode. As the EMUI 10 is based on Android Q, it also brings the system-wide dark mode. The new dark mode will also be able to extend to third party apps which are a welcome addition for those who prefer darker menus. This feature reduces eye strain while operating the device in lowlight conditions. This in turn saves the battery capacity and allows users to operate on the phone for longer.

In 2019, HUAWEI was ranked 12th on the Brand Finance Global 500 Most Valuable Brands lists and 47th on BrandZ Top 100 list of Most Valuable Global Brands. HUAWEI has also achieved 79th position in Forbes World’s Most Valuable Brands and 68th on Interbrand’s Best Global Brands list last year.
