ESOFT Metro Campus Ltd. has entered into a partnership with the Federation of Information Technology (Guarantee) Ltd. (FITIS), showing their commitment to supporting the next generation of tech talent.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 25 November 2024, establishing ESOFT as the Title Partner for the Young Computer Scientist (YCS) Competition for a period of five years from 2024 to 2028.
The signing ceremony was graced by distinguished representatives from both organisations. Representing ESOFT were Managing Director and Chairman Dr. Dayan Rajapakse, Chief Executive Officer Nishan Sembakuttiaracchi and Chief Operating Officer – Business Development Amila Bandara. FITIS was represented by the Chairman Indika De Zoysa, President – Software Chapter Sanjaya Dayananda and Chief Operating Officer Air Commodore Jayasiri Amarasena (Retd.).
ESOFT Managing Director and Chairman Dr. Dayan Rajapakse stated, “We are proud to partner with FITIS on this important initiative. By supporting the Young Computer Scientist Competition, we hope to nurture creativity and encourage young minds to explore the limitless possibilities of technology, driving positive change in the industry and beyond.”
Indika De Zoysa also shared his thoughts, “This partnership is evidence to our commitment to empowering young talent and fostering innovation in the ICT sector. Together with ESOFT, we aim to inspire the next generation of tech leaders and contribute to building the digital economy in Sri Lanka.”
On behalf of the FITIS Software Chapter, its President Sanjaya Dayananda, thanked and appreciated the sponsorship extended by ESOFT to support the YCS competition.
While this partnership aims to support and inspire young tech enthusiasts, it also encourages collaboration between the ICT education and industry sectors.
The YCS Competition is an annual event organised by the FITIS Software Chapter under the guidance of Education Ministry and in collaboration with the University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC). This competition aims to promote the use of ICT applications among school students, inspiring them to explore and innovate with technology.
