EWIS Colombo Ltd., Sri Lanka’s first and only Original Device Manufacturer (ODM), celebrated its 11th anniversary.
The company, driven by a national mission to build Sri Lanka in line with a value-based economy, is committed to achieving all development goals in partnership with the community.
The anniversary celebration, held in the Sooriyawewa area, focused on one central theme: making valuable contributions to society. The event emphasised EWIS’s dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and community empowerment.
As part of the milestone celebration, EWIS Colombo Ltd. launched several impactful community service programs aimed at empowering future generations, supporting rural communities, and promoting education. Key initiatives included the donation of a fully-equipped smart classroom to Sooriyawewa National School, enabling students to experience advanced educational technology. In addition, EWIS all-in-one computers were gifted to students in Sooriyawewa who achieved top scores in all nine subjects at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination. School supplies and books were also distributed to children from underprivileged families in the Sooriyawewa Education Division.
EWIS also contributed to healthcare initiatives by improving facilities at the Sooriyawewa Government Hospital. Additionally, EWIS television sets were provided to the Family Health Services Office and the Divisional Secretariat. The Sooriyawewa Police Station was another beneficiary, receiving much-needed technical equipment to enhance its operations.
The anniversary ceremony also honoured the dedicated staff at EWIS Colombo Ltd., particularly those at the Sooriyawewa assembly factory. Various awards and recognitions were presented as a token of appreciation for their hard work and commitment. EWIS Colombo Ltd. places great importance on providing job opportunities for rural youth, nurturing their inherent skills and shaping them into internationally competitive professionals. This focus on youth development is a key pillar of the company’s business philosophy and is integral to its success.
