Huawei, the number one growing smartphone brand in Sri Lanka, recently launched the much-anticipated Huawei nova 2i upper mid range smartphone at a gala ceremony held at Park Street Mews Colombo.
The event was held under the patronage of Huawei Sri Lanka CEO Shunli Wang, Marketing Director Kumar Samarasinghe Singer Sri Lanka PLC including the management of Singer Sri Lanka PLC, Huawei Sri Lanka, valued dealers and partners.
The nova 2i sports Huawei’s first-ever quad cameras comprising 13MP and 2 MP front-facing dual cameras with smart ambient flash technology and 16MP plus 2MP dual rear cameras enhancing vibrancy in one’s photos and videos captured. Huawei nova 2i’s front facing dual camera uses the power of amazing lenses and cutting-edge camera technology to achieve a breathtaking bokeh effect, better lighting and radiant portraits. Huawei’s amazing cutting edge camera technology allows the capture first and focus later feature, resulting in better composition and memories.
The Huawei nova 2i fully utilises the smooth, elegant, classy feeling brought on by curved lines. The screen’s 5.9-inch bezel-less screen, with rounded edges, gives a comfortable grip with a visual grace and softness. The bezel-less device incorporates a stunning Full High Definition+ resolution screen adding a dynamic dimension to social media, video watching, reading, gaming and browsing.

The Huawei nova 2i has been ingeniously designed with symmetrical beauty around one central axis. The phone’s flash, dual cameras, fingerprint sensor and USB port are all symmetrically aligned around this axis. Though designing the rear of a phone to be symmetrical is extremely difficult, the end result of striking beauty is worth the effort. The front has two cameras on the right hand side while the left has a soft-light and sensor, making the phone’s design balanced and concise.
The device also includes an Octa-core Kirin 659 processor with a chip sets which clocks up to 2.36GHz, 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM for unparalleled powerful performance with a 3340 mAh battery. The nova2i runs on Android7-based new EMUI 5.1. Huawei also partnered with Dialog Axiata PLC as the network partner offering its customers to experience the latest VoLTE technology with the device.
The Huawei nova2i will be available for consumers at Rs. 44,900 in two equally beautiful colours of graphite black and prestige gold. The product will be available at all Huawei Experience Centres with Sri Lanka’s leading smartphone marketer, Singer Sri Lanka ensuring the availability of the nova 2i. Singer Sri Lanka owns Sri Lanka’s largest retail network, including Singer Mega, Singer Plus and SISIL World stores, comprising over 420 retail outlets and Singer’s digital media channel that serves 1,500 dealer outlets.
The device will be also available at selected Dialog Axiata Centres and Mobitel outlets island-wide.
In 2017, HUAWEI was ranked 49 on BrandZ’s Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands, number 88 in Forbes World’s Most Valuable Brands and number 40 on the Brand Finance Global 500 Most Valuable Brands lists. In Sri Lanka, Huawei is edging closer to become the number one smartphone brand with a strong market share of over 30% according to GfK reports.
