The Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS) was set up in 1996 with the purpose of giving a much-needed focal point for the ICT industry in Sri Lanka. With a history spanning 24 years, today, FITIS is the apex body of the ICT sector in the country.

Just In Time Group (JIT) is a veteran in the ICT landscape of Sri Lanka with a history of 24 years as well and it is only apt that these two giants in the ICT industry of Sri Lanka join hands in a corporate partnership.

FITIS has been actively contributing towards changing the landscape of Sri Lankan ICT industry and JIT too has been instrumental in changing the ICT arena in Sri Lanka with implementing and supporting along with their world renown principals, mission critical projects in the country namely Central Bank’s Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) System with Logica CGI as their partner, and the bank’s Treasury Management System with CCK of Australia and the only Common Switch in the country operated by LankaClear with FIS to name a few.

JIT started modestly with just four employees and has firmly established itself as a reputed ICT company with over 400 staff. JIT provides systems integration, network and infrastructure solutions, hardware, outsourcing IT professionals, professional services, information security services, maintenance and support services, etc.

Welcoming JIT onboard for the year 2020/2021, FITIS Chairman Abbas Kamrudeen said that it was indeed a pleasure for FITIS to have the support of JIT, a leading technology solutions and services provider with a legacy of over 24 years to complement its development activities. “I am very pleased to welcome JIT onboard as a Corporate Partner, and I believe this partnership will tremendously benefit both organisations alike,” he said.

Just In Time Group CEO Chrishan Mendis shared, “Through this partnership, we are confident in working towards initiating new developments for Sri Lanka’s ICT landscape. We are firm believers in the focused strategy of FITIS on key areas of Digital Transformation, increase industry contribution towards the national economy and Development of a cohesive communications strategy for all stakeholders and policy makers and are excited to join hands with FITIS at this juncture.

“We are keen to make ICT a driving force in the country and to this end the role of companies like us, in the ICT Space, is to introduce technology so that our customers truly understand their needs to obtain the right solutions and value it brings top down and bottom up. Offering long-lasting, cutting-edge and sustainable solutions, to all our customers to remain competitive is what we strive for and providing support on-site to address touch points of the customer is as important. This stems from the stability and integrity of what an ICT provider should offer, and which I can proudly say we do and have done stemming from our long-standing projects of over 24 years.”

The COVID-19 virus took over our world in ways we never imagined, and became an everyday challenge for people and businesses alike, in every aspect of their lives. At such a crucial time in our country’s history, essential services played an important role in keeping the economy going, on necessary functions for all citizens. JIT has long been playing a silent role in supporting the country’s essential services. With over 24 years as a systems integrator delivering some of the nations’ critical systems and even through this health crisis, JIT stood firm in its commitment to ensure the country and its essential services, continued to function at its optimum.

JIT is optimistic about its journey with FITIS. Both believe that increased usage of technology is an absolute requirement for the growth of our nation and its economy. It is widely accepted that ‘Traditional Technology’ is slowly but steadily becoming outdated and almost redundant in some sectors, with the emergence of new opportunities through the change business models to adopt to emerging business needs. Given the fact that IT is an enabler of transformation, there is much that needs to be done by industry giants like JIT and the APEX body in the sector such as FITIS and for this digital transformation is imperative.
